Why Is Biomimetics So Unique, and What Makes It Superior?
Biomimetics is the scientific discipline that studies and replicates structures found in nature.
In dentistry, the goal has always been to ensure that every restored tooth resembles the natural, healthy tooth as closely as possible, both in appearance and in mechanical function.

How Is a Biomimetic Filling Made?
Biomimetic fillings represent a new chapter in restorative dentistry.
- With traditional fillings, a single restorative material is used.
- In contrast, biomimetic fillings are designed to mimic the natural layered structure of the tooth: beneath the outer enamel lies dentin, which has a different chemical composition and biomechanical properties.
When creating a biomimetic restoration, we reconstruct this multilayered structure using a combination of specialized restorative and adhesive materials.
This method allows us to restore even large cavities with significant loss of tooth structure in such a way that the tooth regains its full chewing function.
Biomimetic restoration is particularly recommended in cases of extensive caries and, in many cases, it can serve as an alternative to a dental crown.
